A story which originates from an intuition: in 1976, Walter and Pietro Ianotto—after many years spent as emigrants in Venezuela—decided to return and invest in their homeland by founding VENETA NASTRI. Through this company, they began an activity dedicated to supplying flat steel products obtained from coils, meeting a need which was emerging at the time among end-users of such steel products.

Business in Veneta Nastri grew rapidly, securing a key role in the expanding sheet metal market of northern Italy and establishing itself through high-quality service and products. But it was only a few years later, in 1997—following the acquisition of the company by the Gabrielli Group through the Cittadella-based company Metalservice—that Veneta Nastri marked a new and decisive impetus in its development.  Significant investments in plant equipment, industry-specific specialisations, supplies of high‑quality products, and a constant focus on innovation have been fundamental elements of the company’s growth.

An example of this was the significant acquisition in 2013 of the railway area in Conegliano, where a large coil storage warehouse—capable of receiving trains carrying raw materials directly inside—was built. This strengthened the company’s organization and logistics capabilities with a sustainable and environmentally conscious approach.

Over the course of fifty years, dimensions, facilities, and markets have changed, and the heart of the project has been strengthened: its People.

Expertise passed down through generations, shared responsibilities, relationships built over time with customers, suppliers, and partners.

Every sheet, strip, every processing activity, and every service originates from an approach which places attention to human relations before economic considerations.

Today, Veneta Nastri successfully operates in the processing and distribution of flat steel products:

over 200.000 tonnes of steel transformed every year, a wide product range—among the most complete in the industry—available to customers, and an in-house laboratory ensuring quality, control, and advanced technical consulting.
